At Onus Advisory, we believe responsibility is only the beginning.

Who we are

Onus Advisory was born out of the desire to affect real and transformational change. We exist to make lasting change, cut through the noise and support businesses to build purpose in, not bolt it on.

We like complex problems, hard work and having a good time.

We believe in a world that is governed by our planetary boundaries where sustainability and profit hold the same weight when it comes to decision making. We’re here to support organisations who believe in the opportunity we have to make the world a better and more just place, and who take their responsibility to do so, seriously.

We live and work across Melbourne and the Surf Coast of Victoria, with a love for both local and international community development.

Our humble beginnings

Kaitlin Roney is the Founder and Co-Director of Onus Advisory. Over her career she has become known for her big picture thinking, strategic approach, and ability to communicate complex concepts simply. Her no-nonsense but supportive and friendly approach is critical to her ability to drive change.

In founding Onus Advisory Kaitlin hoped to create a space and movement that prioritises the big picture, facilitates dynamic robust and profound discussion, doesn’t shy away from the challenge, and drives the fundamental and transformational change required to facilitate the achievement of a more just, sustainable and equitable world.

Kaitlin has worked with some of the world’s biggest and most influential organisations and businesses across the non-government, government and corporate sectors and now has expanded her focus into teaching and mentoring future and aspiring sustainability and social impact professionals through two leading global universities.

However, Onus was never meant to be a one-woman show, we just needed to find the right partner to grow our movement. When we found Mim Pape, we knew she was exactly who we needed. Mim is a co-Director of Onus and brings years of experience working on some of the world’s biggest challenges - from climate change and decarbonisation to community engagement and reconciliation.

She has held positions across ASX-listed and multi-national organisations as well as professional services firms, and is known for her ability to ask the important questions, cut through complexity and design and deliver change programs that deliver real impact.
